LETTING 16-year-olds legally booze in pubs could put an end to the ‘manosphere’ crisis, according to Jimmy Carr.

The comic has weighed in on the online – giving his verdict on ‘s new documentary.

Jimmy argues that society needs to empower young men to stop them turning to controversial like for inspiration, insisting: “There’s a positive side to masculinity and we’re not talking about that. We need to.”

The 53-year-old said: “I think drinking is essential because the risk to your liver is nothing compared to the risk of social isolation.

Pubs have been proven to work for men’s mental health for the last 200 years and I think we should open the doors to 16 year olds.

“I think we should let 16 year olds drink in pubs. My only proviso is not on their own. I think groups of four.

“You should be able to be served if you can get three mates together and then men check other men.

“I don’t want them sat at home on their PlayStation. I don’t want them drinking in the park.

“I want them with other men in a space where there’s grown ups around and that’s how you learn. That’s what a society is. It’s a good idea.”

With his typical dry sense of humour, Jimmy also grabbed the crowd’s attention by telling them: “I’m pro-gang, pro-drinking, pro-gambling… Let me talk you round.”

The comedian went on to explain society should be encouraging men to socialise in safe spaces with other men who can “check them” on their behaviour BEFORE they move into romantic relationships.

It comes after influencer has become the poster boy of the misogynistic manosphere said to be in schools and among young people.

However, sticking his head above the parapet is a risk for Jimmy, claim pals.

A friend of Jimmy’s told The Sun: “Jimmy knows what he’s saying will garner attention – perhaps even for the wrong reasons – but he’s not afraid to stick his head above the parapet for something as important as this.

“He knows the danger toxic masculinity poses, but is very concerned about positive masculinity being wiped out for good.

“Jimmy’s a genius and not only uses comedy to make people laugh, but to go home thinking about some important issues.

“He’s adamant men need to be talking to other men with a positive influence and doing so while drinking in a safe and controlled environment while they bet on themselves and their future.

“It’s a divisive topic with extreme arguments both sides but it’s a debate Jimmy is more than happy to have to fight his corner.”

A number of controversial figures inspired by Tate were at the centre of the Netflix documentary, which was released on March 11, including , Sneako (Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy), as well as podcasters Myron Gaines and .

Though their content is tagged as promoting fitness, dating or moneymaking, it often veers into , antisemitism and hatred towards the LGBTQIA+ community.

LOL: Last One Standing host Jimmy said of the Inside The Manosphere doc: “I think it’s very good that he made that. It’s very interesting that argument is being mainstreamed because you go ‘well, I don’t like what they’re saying to young men but I like the fact they’re talking to young men’.

“You have to respect the intent there. The content’s terrible but the intent of talking to young men that are lost is valuable.

“But we just need better voices talking to young men.

“We can’t marginalise them.”

He told his show audience: “I think there’s a lot of talk about toxic masculinity and no one talks about the positives.

“You could be a king or you could be a tyrant. You could be a warrior or you could be a sadist.

“There’s a positive side to masculinity and we’re not talking about that. We need to.

“We need to empower young men.”

Series two of LOL: Last One Standing has dropped on Prime Video.

Speaking about it to on the latest episode of TFI Unplugged , which you can watch on the Virgin Radio UK YouTube channel, Jimmy said: “It’s not Traitors, it’s not Love Island, it’s not the Jungle because it’s filmed in no longer than a day.

“They don’t know who the jokers are.

“They don’t know who’s going to be in, which is great.

“So the first one in was this year and my favourite thing was when Bob Mortimer comes back to defend his title.

“He walks in and Romesh’s face drops. And I say Romesh’s face drops.

“It drops further. He’s got a resting grump face anyway.”
