INTER MILAN have been dumped out of the Champions League by minnows Bodo/Glimt in one of the biggest shocks of the season.

Despite firing 19 shots on goal, the Serie A giants were second best for large parts of the game and were made to pay for their sloppy defending.

The visitors struck first when former Milan player Jens Petter Hauge opened the scoring at the San Siro, sending the home fans into stunned silence.

Things went from bad to worse for Inter when Hakon Evjen doubled the lead on a truly special night.

The result left Bodo/Glimt cruising to a 4-1 aggregate victory over their Italian opponents.

For the Norwegian side, it was a night to remember, a performance that will go down in the history books of their club.

Inter finally pulled one back thanks to defender Alessandro Bastoni, who scored to make it 1-2 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate with just over 12 minutes remaining.

The goal brought a glimmer of hope and some life to the San Siro crowd, who had been shell-shocked for much of the night.

Inter knew they were down and out, but they refused to go quietly, throwing everything at the visitors in a desperate attempt to restore some pride.

The Serie A heavyweights tried to pressure Bodo/Glimt, hitting cross after cross, but the Norwegians held firm in their unmissable yellow jerseys.

Every save from the visitors’ goalkeeper sent shockwaves through the stadium, with fans unable to believe what was unfolding on their own turf.

The San Siro had witnessed countless nights of glory, but this was one of the finest nights in Norwegian football history, and Inter were powerless to stop it.

In the end, Bodo/Glimt left Italy with a memorable win and progression to the next round, proving that even the smallest clubs can deliver giant-killing moments on Europe’s biggest stage.
