Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, on Tuesday gave an update regarding the bail granted Martin Ortse aka VeryDarkMan by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Adeyanju, who is part of VeryDarkMan’s legal team, said they are yet to receive any bail document from EFCC.

Posting on X, he described EFCC’s claim as social media bail as, according to him, the legal team made several demands but the commission was not yielding.

Adeyanju said: “Bail granted VDM, social media bail as we are yet to receive any bail document from the commission.

“We have made several repeated demands in this regard since yesterday that we were informed about decision to grant bail.”;

DAILY POST reports that VDM was arrested on Friday by the EFCC over an undisclosed offense.

Before his arrest, the social critic had announced his visit to one of the GTBank branches in Abuja, to complain about an alleged deduction from his mother’s account.

Following his arrest, the activist was said to have been manhandled by operatives of the anti-graft agency.

EFCC had said , adding that he was arrested following several petitions against him.

On Monday, the anti-graft agency said it has granted the social critic administrative bail.
