Turkey: Why Fenerbahce lost title to Galatasaray – Mourinho speaks after losing to Solskjaer

Published on May 05, 2025 at 05:04 AM

Fenerbache manager, Jose Mourinho, has claimed that Galatasaray’s imminent Turkish Super Lig title success was pre-determined before the season began.

Mourinho was speaking on Sunday after his team lost 1-0 to Besiktas, coached by former Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The result means that Fenerbahce now sit eight points off leaders Galatasaray with just four matches left.

Mourinho as now alleged that poor refereeing has let his team down and that they never stood a chance of lifting the trophy.

“When some of your players don’t perform well enough, it affects your collective performance as well,”; he said.

“The outcome of the league was determined before the league even started. The games we lost at home were decisive.

“VAR decisions, referee decisions. I am so tired of talking about these things.

“I have no power, nothing changes, but this is the situation, this is the truth.”;
