‘There were rumours animals were buried inside Abia Govt House’ – Otti’s aide, Ukoha

Published on May 17, 2025 at 06:26 AM

Chief Press Secretary to Governor Alex Otti, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha has said that Abians only care about good governance being delivered by Governor Alex Otti, not where the Governor operates from.

This is even as he disclosed that strong rumours had claimed that live cows, vultures and tortoises were allegedly buried inside the new Government House before the assumption of office by the Governor.

Njoku Ukoha, who was speaking on a live program, Open Parliament at Family Love FM Umuahia this week, also alleged that there were rumours about incantations that were made with the intention of eliminating the Governor.

According to him, the present administration did not believe in the stories but treated such talks as mere rumours.

He, however, said that the intense pressure being mounted on the Governor by some members of the opposition to move into the new Government House may be suggesting something fishy.

“I hope it is not what I am thinking. Why is this coming from the same people? Move to the Government House, move to the Government House.

“Before now, there were rumours that cows, vultures and tortoises were buried inside the government house and other incantations with the intention of eliminating the Governor when he was newly elected. That is the rumour that we heard.

“Obviously it was a rumour but I am beginning to think up the whole thing about why this pressure to go to the government house,”;; he wondered.

The CPS informed listeners that massive reconstruction is ongoing at the old Government House being executed by the present administration, including the SSG’s office and Government House clinic.

He further praised the Governor for completing the important Port Harcourt Road which had been in ruins for many years, adding that most other roads in Aba which were in terrible conditions had now been fixed by Governor Alex Otti.
