Published on April 30, 2025 at 01:14 PM

The lawmaker representing Karim-Lamido II Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Dio Jen, has officially stepped down from his position following his appointment as Commissioner for the Ministry of Tertiary Institutions.

Jen disclosed his decision to resign shortly after Governor Agbu Kefas approved his appointment.

The Secretary to the State Government, Bar. Gebson Kataps, announced the governor’s decision on April 15, 2025.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Jen described his appointment as both “sad and joyful,”; especially for his constituents.

“My appointment as Commissioner to head the Ministry for Tertiary Institutions is saddle with sadness and joy, especially in my Constituency,”; he said.

He pledged loyalty to the governor, emphasizing that he would carry out any responsibility assigned to him.

“The Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas is my boss, whatever he says I should do, I will do it. Even if he tells me to go and help him as Councilor representing my Ward, in Karim Lamido Local Government, I will go.

“If the Governor sees anything good in me and he says assist me in this, I will not hesitate to do it.

“So, I am happy about it and I call on people to understand that in every country or sector, you have a leader. I am following what my leader told me to do for him.

“I will just relinquish the position of Member representing Karim-Lamido II State Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly to create room for a by-election for somebody to emerge,”; he added.
