The “Second Shot at Love”; cast has talked about the warm and lively atmosphere on set and their off-screen bond!
“Second Shot at Love”; is a rom-com that follows Han Geum Ju (Girls’ Generation’sSooyoung), a self-proclaimed “reasonable drinker”; who unexpectedly reunites with her first love Seo Ui Jun (Gong Myoung)—a man who despises alcohol—and decides to take on the challenge of quitting drinking.
Reflecting on her time on set, Sooyoung shared, “The atmosphere on set was incredibly warm—like being with real family or longtime friends.”; On working with Gong Myoung as her first love Seo Ui Jun, she added, “He was such a reliable and considerate partner. I truly feel lucky to have such a great co-star.”;
She also expressed heartfelt admiration for her on-screen family. “Kim Sung Ryung was absolutely lovely on set and someone I could learn a lot from. I’ve always been a fan of Kim Sang Ho, and it felt so natural and comforting to play his daughter. Jo Yoon Hee was perfect for her role—I found myself in awe of her performance every time we filmed together.”;
Gong Myoung echoed her sentiments, saying, “It was honestly such a joy. Every moment spent with them all was fun and heartwarming.”; He added, “Whenever we were all together, it felt like gathering with family during the holidays. I always looked forward to going to the set.”;
Kim Sung Ryung, who plays Han Geum Ju’s mother Kim Gwang Ok, also praised the ensemble. “Kim Sang Ho is the anchor of our team—when he’s not around, something feels missing. Sooyoung and Jo Yoon Hee, who play my daughters, are both full of energy and have this natural charm that puts everyone at ease; they’re so effortlessly lovable. And Gong Myoung brings so much lovely and playful charm to the set that I always looked forward to filming with him.”;
Kim Sang Ho, who portrays Han Geum Ju’s father Han Jung Soo, remarked, “Our chemistry was fantastic—we could just look at each other and start laughing.”; He also recalled a special moment: “One day, I was sitting with Kim Sung Ryung, Sooyoung, and Jo Yoon Hee, and we suddenly realized how much we actually looked like a real family. Everyone clapped and said, ‘Wow, we really do look like one!’”;
Jo Yoon Hee, who plays Han Geum Ju’s older sister Han Hyun Ju, also spoke warmly about her castmates. “Kim Sang Ho always brought new ideas to our family scenes, making it easier to act naturally. Kim Sung Ryung conveyed such emotional depth that she genuinely felt like a mother. And Sooyoung and Gong Myoung brought such lovable energy and charm—they constantly brightened up the set.
“Second Shot at Love”; is set to premiere on May 12 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
