Back in March, rumors began circulating about new characters in the Hulu revival series.

Reports had suggested the reboot would focus on “a cerebral 16-year-old named Nova ... who is very smart and a bit of a loner,”; alongside her friends “Hugo, an out-and-proud nerd who comes from money, and Gracie, a young expert on vampires who’s an acolyte of Gellar’s Buffy.”;

However, Sarah has now quashed these details while also branding them as “fake”;.

Speaking to Elite Daily, she said: “Those are all fake characters. That thing that got released is all fake.”;

The rebooted series hails from Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao, 43, who is reportedly a lifelong Buffy fan.

In February, Sarah confirmed that she would be involved in the revival.

Furthermore, she is determined to make sure it is done the right way – especially after the overwhelmingly exciting reaction from fans.

She told People Magazine: “I wish there was a better word than overwhelming. It’s heartwarming and exciting and also incredibly nerve-wracking at the same time.

“And I think we have this team in place that is legendary, from Chloe Zhao to the Zucks [Nora and Lilla Zuckerman], to Gail Berman.

“And I think people are going to be pretty impressed.”;

Earlier this year, fans were left heartbroken by Michelle Trachtenberg’s tragic death.

The actress – who played Buffy’s sister Dawn in the final three seasons – tragically on February 26, aged 39.

Taking to Instagram, Sarah shared a poignant tribute by quoting from the show itself.

She penned: “Michelle, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you.

“The hardest thing in this world, is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live... for you.”;
