Oh Jung Se is stepping into the role of a father like no other in the upcoming film“Hi-5”;;!
“Hi-5”;; is a comic action adventure about five people who unexpectedly gain different superpowers through organ transplants and must defend themselves against those who seek to exploit their abilities.
Oh Jung Se plays Jong Min, a devoted father and former national taekwondo athlete who once competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Though he now runs a modest taekwondo studio while struggling to make ends meet, Jong Min becomes a relentless and fiercely protective “super dad”;; when it comes to his daughter Wan Seo (Lee Jae In).
Even after Wan Seo receives a heart transplant following an illness, Jong Min can’t shake his worry, especially as she begins to come home late and keep secrets. Fearful that she may be hiding something—or worse, being bullied—his parental instincts go into overdrive.
Oh Jung Se shared, “I tried to make their father-daughter dynamic come across as warm and loving rather than overly protective.”;; Director Kang Hyeong Cheol described the character by saying, “Jong Min is the one with the greatest superpower in ‘Hi-5’ despite not actually having any superpower,”;; hinting at the power of a father’s unconditional love.
Lee Jae In also spoke warmly of their bond on set, saying, “He really looked after me like a real father. I even called him ‘Dad’ and leaned on him a lot.”;;
