In celebration of Children’s Day, a national holiday observed in Korea on May 5, several stars have made generous donations to support children and youth in need.

IU marked the occasion with a meaningful act of kindness. On May 5, her agency EDAM Entertainment revealed, “To celebrate Children’s Day, IU donated a total of 150 million won (approximately $107,600) under the name ‘IUAENA’ [a combination of IU and her fandom UAENA].”;

Of the donation, 62 million won (approximately $44,500) was given to Eden I Ville to support self-reliant youth, fund Children’s Day gifts, and aid in creating dedicated spaces for their growth. The remaining 90 million won (approximately $64,600) was donated to Hansarang Village and Hansarang Infant Care Center for Children with Disabilities to help replace outdated boilers, support medical and rehabilitation treatments, and provide gifts—offering practical improvements to their daily lives.

BTS’s Jin also made a generous contribution, donating 100 million won (approximately $71,800) to the children’s hospital at Seoul Asan Medical Center.

Jin shared, “My heart always aches when I see children battling illnesses. I made this donation, though small, in the hope that they can quickly recover and run around happily again.”;

According to the hospital, the funds will be used to enhance medical services and the overall environment for pediatric patients.

Actress Kim Go Eun also joined the spirit of giving, donating 50 million won (approximately $35,900) to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital to help improve medical conditions for young patients.

This marks her fifth consecutive donation since 2021. Her contributions have consistently supported children from low-income families who are battling chronic or severe illnesses, making a tangible impact on their treatment and care.

Park Bo Young continued her tradition of giving with a donation of 20 million won (approximately $14,400) through ChildFund Korea, designated for improving the treatment environment at Seoul Metropolitan Children’s Hospital.

Beyond financial support, Park Bo Young has been volunteering at children’s hospitals for over a decade, consistently spreading kindness both through her time and resources.

Actor Zo In Sung also made a heartfelt gesture this Children’s Day. Having maintained a longstanding relationship with an orphanage in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, Zo In Sung prepared sneakers as gifts for the children this year.

In addition to gifting sneakers, he also supports the children monthly by covering snack expenses—treating them to tteokbokki, hot dogs, pizza, and birthday cakes. Last year, he even invited over 30 guests—including children from the orphanage, youths with rare or physical conditions, their families, and social workers—to the VIP premiere of his film “Smugglers.”;

Since 2020, Zo In Sung has also consistently contributed to covering treatment costs for children with rare diseases, quietly leading by example with his continued dedication to those in need.
