THIS is the hilarious moment a family erupts into chaos when a sneaky magpie flies into their home.

Nicole Young, from Glasgow, had opened her front door for an Iceland food delivery on Sunday morning.

Just seconds later, the scene in her Pollok flat descends into mayhem.

In a Ring Doorbell clip, the delivery driver warns the mum-of-four: “Be careful. there’s a magpie in your close”;;, before making his way to the stairs.

Apparently used to the pesky bird, Nicole sighs in response: “Oh f*** is there? Oh no again.

“They come all the time and you need to try and get a shoebox and try to get it out. Thanks so much.”;;

The unsuspecting mum-of-four then gets more than she bargained for when the bird swoops in while she bent down to pick up her groceries.

Thankfully, the Iceland worker raises the alarm as he yells: “It’s in your hoose.”;;

Nicole only has time to shout “Shut up. Is it?”;; before her son Russell bursts into the hallway in tears as the magpie terrorises the living room.

The sweet delivery driver attempts to soothe the youngster as he says “it’s alright kid, it’s alright”;; before Nicole ushers him into the safety of another room.

Two more children then follow into the room while Nicole and partner Robbie attempt to find a shoebox to catch the bird.

After getting the magpie out safely, Nicole has since joked on social media that the incident is the “funniest thing”;;.

Uploading the clip to her TikTok page – @nicoleyoung7580 – she said: “Sunday morning madness quite literally.

“Magpie flew in the house, weans all screaming. Literally the funniest thing you’ll watch today.”;;

And it seems like social media users agree, with her video quickly racking up an incredible 2.2million views.

One person said: “I’ve got real tears at it just flying past your head and him shouting its in your house.”;;

A second joked: “Ok kids we’ve trained for this, get into the panic room.”;;

A third chimed in: “Magpie scooting past the driver like not today pal I’m delivering the sorrow first.”;;

Social media users praised Nicole for staying so calm

“Magpie like you chap the door big man, distract her for two secs n il take it fae there”;;, laughed a fourth.

A fifth added: “Chaos, absolute chaos. That room was like a magicians hat with people popping out left right and centre. The magpie just wanted to watch the show and became an unpaid actor.”;;

Meanwhile, a sixth insisted: “Every part of this was funny in so many different ways.”;;

Even Iceland got in on the joke, as the supermarket’s social media team wrote: “Sorry for the chaos! That’s Gary one of our underqualified delivery magpies, hope you got him out yer hoose.”;;

The clip has since been played on BBC Radio 1 with morning host Greg James saying “I love this video”;;.

He added: “We wouldn’t have anything to watch on TiKTok if there weren’t doorbells recording everything we do.

“It’s amazing. I love this video. I’d be scared of a magpie flapping around my head. I think I’d be exactly this scared.”;;

Show producer Suzanna also admitted she had spent most of the morning show watching the viral video instead of listening to Greg.

Hailing supermum Nicole, she said: “What a woman. She just gets it dealt with, she gets the shoebox out, she puts the kids into a little magpie-free safe room.

“If Nicole was my mum I wouldn’t be scared because I’d know I was in such safe hands.”;;

Radio star Greg then went on to label the Scottish clip as “a strong contender for the new ‘Catch him Derry’ video”;;.

The clip in question refers to the moment in 2017 when a family in County Kerry, Ireland, attempted to catch a bat in their kitchen. The hilarious video has since been watched by tens of millions of people across the globe.

His thoughts were echoed by other social media users, as one said: “The Scottish version of ‘there’s a bat Derry’.”;;

“Scottish version of ‘Catch him Derry'”;;, agreed someone else.
