Gong Myoung has shared his thoughts on his upcoming drama “Second Shot at Love”;!
tvN’s “Second Shot at Love”; is a rom-com that follows Han Geum Ju (Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung), a self-proclaimed “reasonable drinker”; who unexpectedly reunites with her first love Seo Ui Jun (Gong Myoung)—a man who despises alcohol—and decides to take on the challenge of quitting drinking.
Gong Myoung plays Seo Eui Jun, the head of Bocheon Public Health Center. He is admired for his good looks, impressive skills, and great personality. After a successful career as a specialist at a prestigious university hospital in Seoul, Seo Eui Jun unexpectedly returns to his hometown. Unlike his close friend Han Geum Ju, he strongly dislikes alcohol.
On why he chose to star in the drama, Gong Myoung shared, “I was excited to work with director Jang Yoo Jung and writer Myung Soo Hyun, but more than anything, the script was really fun.”; He added, “I decided to take the role because I thought I could show a different side of myself through the character of Seo Ui Jun.”;
Describing the character of Seo Ui Jun, Gong Myoung commented, “He’s friendly and charmingly sly, a lovable character who interacts freely with the villagers. On the surface, he seems cheerful and kind, but deep down, he has his own pain.”;
Gong Myoung also talked about how playing Seo Ui Jun influenced him. He shared, “I became a lot more sociable like Seo Ui Jun. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy filming while getting along well with my fellow actors.”;
Regarding his approach to portraying a doctor, he said, “I wanted to come across as more polished than before, and since the character is a doctor, I wanted to give off a trustworthy image. So I toned down my way of speaking and acting, and I put a lot of thought into how to express myself in a way that would make me seem reliable.”;
Gong Myoung concluded by encouraging viewers to tune in to the drama, remarking, “The writer’s fun script and the great chemistry among the cast are the key highlights of the drama. From the sweet romance between Han Geum Ju and Seo Ui Jun to the strong family bonds, the drama is full of warmth, so please look forward to it and show it lots of love.”;
“Second Shot at Love”; will premiere on May 12 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
