Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, has posted a farewell message to Trent Alexander-Arnold after the defender confirmed he would be leaving at the end of the season.
Alexander-Arnold has rejected a new contract with his boyhood club and is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old has been with the newly-crowned Premier League champions since he was six.
Since coming through the academy, Alexander-Arnold has won eight major honours with Liverpool.
The England international described his imminent exit as the “hardest decision of his life”; and stressed that he will continue to support Liverpool, despite playing elsewhere.
Salah has formed a strong partnership with Alexander-Arnold on the right side of Liverpool’s attack over the past eight years and chose to reflect on the good times on Monday.
“It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you. I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again,”; he posted on Instagram alongside a succession of photos of the two of them playing together for Liverpool.
Alexander-Arnold replied with two love heart emojis and the words “big bro”;.
