EPL: I’m embarrassed – Amorim hits out at Man Utd players after 2-0 defeat to West Ham

Published on May 11, 2025 at 08:37 PM

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted he was “embarrassed”;; following their 2-0 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

Amorim also criticised the attitude of his players and questioned whether he is the right man to lead the club’s turnaround.

The loss marked the Red Devils’ 17th league defeat of the campaign.

United, currently sitting in 16th place on the table, are now heading for their lowest league finish since their relegation to the second tier in 1974.

“How is a manager of Manchester United supposed to feel in this position? Embarrassed, and it’s hard to accept,”;; Amorim said.

“For me, the biggest concern is that feeling that ‘it’s ok’. We cannot change our position so much, so it’s ok. That is the biggest problem in our club at this moment because we are losing the feeling that we are a massive club, and it’s the end of the world to lose a game at home.

“I think that is the biggest concern in our club.”;;
