But will Eileen be sent to prison for killing her sister

Julie had been struggling with a terminal cancer battle and returned to live with her sister, Eileen, played by , for her final few months alive.

In a tragic turn of events, Julie chose to end her own life after saying a slew of personal goodbyes to her nearest and dearest.

She passed away by a lake after organising her own perfect final day.

However, Eileen was none the wiser to her plan until Todd suggested that everything pointed to a suicide.

Now, fans think that Julie’s sad death could trigger an unexpected version of events for Eileen.

With Eileen having been alone with Julie at the time of her death, and Julie still having a life expectancy of a few months, fans have theorised that Eileen could be seen as complicit in her death.

Viewer suggestions imply that Eileen could even find herself facing jail for the MURDER of her own sister.

With Sue set to depart from the soap like Katy in the next few weeks, fans think this is a surefire sign that Eileen will be jailed.

With her son Jason Grimshaw, played by , also set to make a return, another idea is that she could go on the run with him to Thailand to avoid being imprisoned.

Writing online, one fan said: “Eileen accidentally gets the blame for ‘killing’ Julie which means she’ll either go to jail or she’ll go on the run/ she’ll flee the cobbles to stay with Jason.”;

Before another tweet read: “I think Julie has secretly overdosed behind Eileen’s back and Eileen will accidentally get blamed and she’ll either go to jail or go on the run to stay with Jason.”;

The theory could prove correct as spoilers for upcoming scenes confirm that Julie passed away having consumed some of Eileen’s medication.

Will Eileen’s time in Weatherfield end with ?

Or will she have a different exit altogether?
