ATBU blames April salary delay on OAGF, appeals for staff patience

Published on May 06, 2025 at 05:42 PM

The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Bauchi, has attributed the delay in the payment of April 2025 salaries to the non-release of funds by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, OAGF.

In an internal memo now circulating on social media, the University’s Bursar, Mrs Oluyode Oluseyi Adenike, appealed to staff for understanding over the situation.

“I write to inform members of staff that the University is experiencing a delay in the payment of April 2025 salary due to the non-release of financial backing from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, OAGF.

“The University Administration has been in constant communication with the OAGF to expedite the release of funds. We kindly urge members of staff to remain patient as we work towards resolving the issue,”; she stated.

Confirming the authenticity of the memo, the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Zailani Bappa, said, “It’s genuine.”;
