Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu has warned his players not to underrate the Rising Stars of Kenya in their final group game at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Nigeria will be up against Salim Babu’s side in a Group B encounter at the June 30 Air Defence Stadium, Cairo on Wednesday (today).
Kenya are without a win in the competition with defeat to Tunisia and Morocco in their opening two games.
The Flying Eagles recorded a win and draw from their opening two fixtures.
The seven-time champions are overwhelming favourites to win the game but Zubairu insisted they can’t afford to underrate their opponent.
“We are not going to relax because Kenya have lost two games. In a competition like this, any team that has lost twice and has no points is always difficult to play against,”; Zubairu told the team’s media officer, Sharrif Abdallah.
“We have told the players not to relax. We cannot afford to underrate or underestimate the Kenyans. They are not a bad side. We are going to approach the game with all seriousness to ensure we carry the day.”;
The game will kick-off at 4pm Nigerian time.
