A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has declared that he will avoid Arise Television until one of its presenters, Rufai Oseni, is dismissed.
Igbokwe's statement came after a tense exchange between the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and Rufai during an interview on The Morning Show on Monday.
A viral video shows the minister, visibly upset by some questions posed by Rufai regarding the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, asking the host to be quiet.
Umahi asserted that he is a professor in engineering and possesses extensive knowledge about federal government projects.
However, Rufai pressed on and inquired about the year the minister attained his professorship.
In response to the incident, Igbokwe took to Facebook to announce that he would not return to the television station until Rufai is removed, stating that it has “turned into a platform where anything goes.”
“I will never go there again until Rufai Oseni is dismissed. The Animal Science graduate is ridiculing journalism. A television station is not a venue for mediocrity and noise makers,” the APC chieftain wrote.
