The Catalan giants moved SEVEN points clear of Real Madrid at the top of .

However, the boss kept his cards close to his chest when asked about it after the winger’s superb display against Atletico.

said: “I’m very happy with Marcus.

“He has shown his quality and he scored an important goal.

“I can’t say anything about his future, we have to focus on the matches until the end of the season.”

The future is not set in stone for the Man Utd loanee.

Barca have until June 15 to activate a £26 million option to make the loan permanent, but recent reports have suggested they will return to the negotiation table.

One man standing behind the Red Devil loanee is who won the Barcelona FC presidential election again recently.

The president had previously expressed a desire to keep the forward, but even he suggested he would prefer to agree a new price or extend the loan.

A source told ESPN that could also spread the payment across three £8.6m instalments – one this year, followed by two more in 2027 and 2028.

Other reports have insisted that United have no plans to negotiate a new deal with Barca.

Towards the end of last year, Rashford revealed to the Spanish outlet Sport that Barcelona was his “happy place”.

The 28-year-old added: “Of course this is what I want, but it’s not the reason why I’m pushing and working hard.

“The reason why is because I want to win. Barcelona is a fantastic club.

“A club that is known for winning, and it’s this type of pressure – I want to say pressure but it’s not a bad type of pressure.

“It’s a fantastic environment for me to continue my journey.

“Last year they had a fantastic season but – like in life and in football – things move on quickly so we have to repeat the season that we had last season.”
