Great news, Grey’s Anatomy lovers – three of the show’s lead stars have signed new contracts for multiple seasons in the long-running series.

Kim Raver (Dr. Teddy Altman), Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) and Camilla Luddington (Jo Karev) have all signed on the dotted line in deals which will see them star in the medical drama for up to three more seasons.

According to Deadline, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is in the middle of a two-year pickup which also includes a two-year deal for star Ellen Pompeo, expiring at the end of Season 17.’

So these new contracts can help calm fears of fans who might have worried that the show could be coming to an end after season 17.

Speaking about the future of the show, ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke previously said: ‘Grey’s Anatomy will live as long as Ellen is interested in playing Meredith Grey.’

So all eyes are on Ellen Pompeo as she continues with her contract negotiations.

Meanwhile, the show has added Richard Flood and Anthony Hill as series regulars.

Flood joined Grey’s in season 16 in a recurring role as Dr. Cormack Hayes, a pediatric surgeon, while Hill guest-starred last season as Dr. Winston Ndugu, a man from Maggie’s (Kelly McCreary) past.

Another thing we know about season 17 is that the show will tackle the coronavirus pandemic, which has tragically killed over six million people across the world over the past eight months.

The news was announced by Vernoff, who joined Chandra Wilson (Dr. Miranda Bailey) and Kevin McKidd on the Quaranstreaming: Comfort TV That Keeps Us Going panel.
