A NEWLY-elected Green Party councillor uploaded a video of himself driving a bright orange Lamborghini just days after he was voted-in.

Mohammad Baghdadi Khan – known as Baggy Khan, a new councillor for Halliwell in Bolton – posted the video to his Instagram and Tiktok – despite his party’s plans to slash speed limits and tax drivers.

Councillor Khan has filled his social media profiles with pictures of high end motors – including a Mercedes with a custom licence plate.

And just days after he became one of the Green Party’s new 279 councillors on May 7, he shared the video of himself driving the Orange Lamborghini.

Under the video, one TikTok user commented: “Absolute joke a local councillor driving a car like that”.

Cllr Baggy Khan, 25, responded: “Who said councillors can’t drive cars like this?”.

Another comment on the video read: “proper down to earth relatable councillor this”.

It is unclear when the video was filmed – and the car appears to be the same as one previously used for his wedding in 2023.

Cllr Khan also uploaded a photo of himself and a friend posed next to the car to his Facebook yesterday.

In their recent transport plan, the Green Party called for dual carriageway speed limits of 55 mph – the top speed of a Lamborghini Huracán Spyder is 200 mph due to its 5.2-litre V10 engine.

The Greens could also more widely roll out 20mph limits in towns.

The party would also seek to increase road fuel tax to encourage users to opt for “smaller, more fuel-efficient cars”.

The Lambo does approximately 15 miles per gallon – less than half of the average of 38 on normal road cars.

The party hopes to move away from all petrol and diesel vehicles by 2035, with an end to the sale of petrol and diesel cars by next year.

Bolton is in one of the most deprived authorities in England at 30th out of 296 local councils, according to Bolton Council’s 2025 Indices of Deprivation.

The report added: “46 per cent of Bolton residents live in an area in the 20 per cent most deprived nationally.”

Conservative councillor Anne Galloway told The Sun: “Many residents were dismayed to see that a Green Party candidate in the local elections regularly featured a collection of supercars on his social media.”

The representative for Heaton, Lostock and Chew Moor also said that speeding was a big problem in the area.

She added: “The danger it represents to other road users and pedestrians can’t be overstated and it was constantly brought up on the doorstep when I was out canvassing.

“I hope and fully expect Councillor Khan now he is elected to use his new public role to promote road safety and condemn the culture around speeding.”

The top three photos of Cllr Khan’s Instagram include luxury cars, one of which filmed the many supercars at his wedding in September 2023.

A Bolton Reform UK spokesperson told The Sun: “It’s up to the voters who voted for them”.

“If that’s what they wanted then good for them,” they added.

There are several other photos of Cllr Khan posing by expensive cars – alongside other posts with his campaign pledges to “tax billionaires” and “better roads”.

In June of 2023, Cllr Khan appeared to film himself driving another luxury car and posted the video to social media.

The clip starts with him in a driver’s seat before the camera flips round to show the motorway.

A similar video was uploaded in October 2022 but it is unclear when the footage was filmed.

The videos sparked an investigation by the local Green party before the election – and Khan promised he would not post anymore “driving videos”.

He was condemned by the local Labour party as showing “shocking irresponsibility”.

The Sun has approached Cllr Khan and the Green Party for comment.
