CARLOS ALCARAZ made history by fighting back from two sets down to beat world No.1 Jannik Sinner in a last set tie-breaker in the French Open final.

The 22-year-old defended his title in style after saving three championship points to send an all-time epic final into a deciding set- which went to a TIE-BREAKING game.

It was the first time ever that Alcaraz has come back from 2-0 down to win, while Sinner, 23, remains winless in matches over three hours and 50 minutes.

It was the longest French Open final, beating the four hours and 42 minutes played out between Mats Wilander’s four-set triumph over Guillermo Vilas back in 1982.

And Alcaraz fought back from behind and battled with painful cramp to beat Alexander Zverev to win the Roland-Garros for the first time last June.

THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY..
