Human rights attorney, Chidi Odinkalu, has strongly criticized the suppression of #FreeNnamdiKanu protesters, labeling the police's actions as terroristic.

In an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a program on Channels Television that was monitored by DAILY POST on Thursday, Odinkalu characterized the actions as unlawful and irresponsible.

“The crackdown by security agencies on #FreeNnamdiKanu protesters is unlawful and reckless.

“There is a constitutional right to Freedom of Speech, Assembly, and Association. Those advocating for the release of detained pro-Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu, through protests have the constitutional right to do so.

“What the police did during that protest was terroristic. You cannot disrupt the entire city merely to prevent a protest.

“If they had simply guided the protesters along the road, people would have been able to conduct their businesses with minimal disruption.

“The notion of imprisoning the entire city to intimidate the community effectively in order to prevent a protest is unlawfully terroristic,” he stated.
