With the UK set to experience one of its hottest summers to date, Brits around the country will be facing highs of 20C even throughout the night.

But according to GP, Dr Sanam Grover, where you store your skincare can have a big impact on the quality of your sleep.

Speaking on , the health communicator recommended placing moisturisers, skincare, and eye creams in a cold, dry environment – such as a fridge – for a few hours before using the product.

He said: “Then when you use them at night, it will help with cooling.”

The refreshing sensation is said to help lower your core temperature at night – encouraging a deeper and more restorative sleep.

So while it is important to keep cool at night, make sure your skincare is not ruined in the process.
