FIFA are struggling to sell tickets for England’s third-place play-off with France.

Around 7,000 tickets were still available as of 10am UK time on Friday which was 36 hours before kick-off in Miami.

At that point on Friday morning, there were still 1,246 tickets left on general sale listed at a price of £657 and £855.

There was another 5,864 tickets going on the official resale platform, with the cheapest being category three costing £346 plus Fifa’s 15 per cent fee.

Football’s world governing body have been slashing prices for the more expensive categories listed, too.

A category one ticket originally cost £855 and is now going at £500.

Tournament favourites also missed out on the chance to compete for the big prize after being beaten 2-0 by in Dallas.

Tickets have not sold out yet for Sunday’s World Cup final either, with more than a thousand tickets available on the resale site.

TV viewing figures are also expected to take a hit for the match.

England’s last effort in a third-place play-off match came in 2018 when they were beaten by .

Less than a third of the 30.9million who watched the semi-final loss to had enough interest to watch the match.

England had only featured in one play-off match before and that was a 2-1 loss to host nation in 1990.

ENGLAND are preparing for their third ever play-off match at the World Cup after losing to Argentina.
