FANS were livid that VAR was not being used in the fourth round of the FA Cup – after Tammy Abraham gave Aston Villa the lead against Newcastle from an offside position.
The striker, 28, was found from Douglas Luiz’s cleverly worked free-kick and fired past Magpies keeper Aaron Ramsdale.

But replays showed that Abraham, who last month, was lucky to see his goal stand after failing to time his run.
Having seen the opener again, BBC co-commentator Danny Murphy said: “He looks a yard off to me.”
And fans flooded onto social media to vent their fury when it became clear that Abraham’s strike should have been ruled out.
One said: “Bring back VAR. That’s terrible by the linesman, not even close.”
Another added: “Mad how offside goals count in the FA Cup because of no VAR. Tammy Abraham is like a yard offside.”
A third chimed in: “You can hate VAR but Newcastle have been robbed lol.”
A fourth noted: “Tammy Abraham was so clearly offside.”
And another frustrated fan simply commented: “Bring back VAR.”
More decisions went against Newcastle later in the first half – leaving Magpies chief Eddie Howe and his players fuming.
Ref Chris Kavanagh waved away appeals for a penalty when Lewis Hall went down.
And Lucas Digne was fortunate to escape with only a yellow card when he caught Jacob Murphy with a dangerous challenge.
The controversial calls put Newcastle on the back foot as they looked to build on .
Bagging all three points in North London allowed the Magpies to notch their first victory since seeing off PSV Eindhoven last month.
