Leeds United coach, Jesse Marsch, has suggested that his side defeated Liverpool 2-1 in Saturday’s Premier League tie because his players put in a good performance against the Reds.
Marsch said that Leeds United was able to beat Liverpool because his players stepped up big against the host.
Two goals from Rodrigo Moreno and Crysencio Summerville gave Leeds all three points against Liverpool.
Mohammed Salah did score for Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield.
“It was a good performance,” Marsch said at his post-match press conference after the game.
“It was good that we were able to reward ourselves. My feeling is that we shouldn’t be in the situation we are in, but we are.
“I’ve tried to stay calm but also to push. The group is strong and they are committed, so I am thankful to have them.
“They stepped up big today and they are the reason we were able to get the win.”
