Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl, has picked Mohamed Elyounoussi as his man of the match during his side’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
Hasenhuttl said Elyounoussi made a big save against Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus during the tie, adding that he was pleased with the match’s outcome.
The 55-year-old watched as Southampton drew with Arsenal following goals from Granit Xhaka and Stuart Armstrong at St. Mary’s Stadium.
“I’m very pleased,” Hasenhuttl told HampshireLive after the game.
“I think the second half, we could feel that we were getting better and playing better football, and the goal was fantastic.
“For me, the decisive scene was when Moi [Elyounoussi] made the big save against Gabriel Jesus. For me, he was our player of the match. We put him in the wing-back position suddenly and I don’t know how many positions he has played in this team since I’ve been here, but you can trust him everywhere. When he does what he does with his discipline, with his effort, it’s amazing to watch.”
