Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has said that the World Cup break represents a big ‘danger’ for youngster, Alejandro Garnacho’s development.
Manchester United defeated Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday with Garnacho coming off the bench to net the winner for the Red Devils.
Christian Eriksen had put the visitors in the lead but were pegged back by a Dan James equaliser.
The young Argentine netted against Real Sociedad and bagged a pair of assists against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Now that the Spain born Argentine is gradually coming out of his teething problems and attitude issues, Ten Hag feels the World Cup has come at the worst possible time.
He believes that Garnacho could lose the momentum he was building.
“Now it’s a four-week break, that’s already a danger for him because he’s now got momentum, but now it’s cut. It’s a cut in the season.
“So we will see how he comes back…
“The danger is four weeks of no games. He could lose focus, less investment.”
