HARRY BROOK says no amount of money could sway him from his England commitments.
The Yorkshireman has sacrificed a £590,000 deal with Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
Harry Brook turned down a lucrative T20 deal to focus on EnglandBrook wants to keep himself fit and firing for Test series against India and this year.
With his appointment as England’s new white-ball captain confirmed earlier this week, Brook, 26, faces an unrelenting schedule.
Asked if a mega-money offer on the T20 domestic scene could get between him and , Brook replied: “Definitely not at the minute. I just want to play for England.
“It’s a lot of cricket. I’m looking forward to it. I’d like to play every game.”;
Brook could be banned from the IPL next year so would be giving up more than £1million – he may not be eligible again for the IPL until 2027.
New tournament rules brought in for this year say anyone withdrawing for any reason, other than injury, would incur a two-year suspension. But Brook said: “That’s the rules, so if I get banned, fair play.
“I’m committed to playing for England â if that means franchise takes a step back, so be it.”;
Brook has been tasked with reviving England’s limited-overs sides, having served as vice-captain to recently and stood in for him during an ODI series against Australia last year.
Despite a 3-2 series loss, Brook â who also led Northern Superchargers in â was the highest run-scorer.
He averaged 78, with a strike-rate of 127.86, to lead the fightback from 2-0 down.
Brook added: “This might sound a bit stupid but when you’re captain, it almost makes you want to win a little bit more.
“I want us to be very aggressive and 100 per cent committed to what we’re trying to achieve.”;
Brook begins his reign with the first of three ODIs against West Indies on May 29 at Edgbaston.
