The Edo State Government has initiated measures to investigate the previous administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki by sending a letter to the State House of Assembly.

According to DAILY POST, the letter, dated October 8, 2025, was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.

The letter, titled “Investigation of Two Critical Projects in the State,” was addressed to the Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku.

The two significant projects that Governor Monday Okpebholo has requested the House to investigate are the Radisson Blu Hotels and the Museums for West Africa Arts (MOWAA).

The Governor instructed the House to invite the respective contractors involved in the projects, as well as any other offices or bodies associated with them, to determine their statuses and the Edo State government's involvement in each project.

In the letter, it states, “I write on behalf of His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to request the House to conduct a comprehensive oversight investigation into two critical ongoing projects initiated by the previous administration.”

“The Speaker will recall that at the beginning of this administration, His Excellency, the Governor established the Assets Verification Committee with a mandate to assess, verify, and document the status of all Edo State Government assets and liabilities as of November 11, 2024.”

“Based on the Committee's report, the government recognized the need for the House of Assembly to investigate two critical projects in which the State Government is believed to have stakes.”
