The Edo State House of Assembly has established a 14-member ad-hoc committee to investigate the ownership status of two major projects initiated by the previous administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
According to DAILY POST, the two projects in question are the Radisson Blu Hotel and the Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA).
It is worth noting that the State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, sent a letter to the House on October 20, 2025, requesting an assessment of their statuses and the Edo State Government’s involvement in each project.
The Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku, announced the formation of the 14-member committee during a plenary session on October 21, 2025.
Agbebaku specified that there would be a seven-member committee for each of the two projects.
He stated, "The clerk read a letter from the governor on the floor of this House, asking us to investigate two significant projects initiated by the previous administration."
“These projects are the Radisson Blu Hotel and the MOWAA.”
“To ensure a thorough investigation, we will announce the names of the members who will make up the ad-hoc committee for these projects.”
“The investigation should commence immediately, and the committee is expected to report back to the House within one month,” he added.
The Speaker appointed Hon. Jonathan Ibhawamau, the House Majority Leader and representative for Esan West constituency, as the chairman of the committee tasked with investigating the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Other members of this committee include Osamwonyi Kaycee (Uhunmwode), Addeh Isibor (Esan North-East I), Sunday Aghedo (Ovia South-West), Donald Okogbe (Akoko-Edo II), Sunday Ojiezele (Esan South-East), and Eric Okaka (Owan East).
Hon. Addeh Isibor, the Deputy Majority Leader, has been appointed as the chairman of the seven-member ad-hoc committee for the Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA).
Additionally, the committee members for MOWAA include Andrew Uzamere (Ovia North-East II), Jonathan Ibhawamau (Esan West), Eugene Ojie Inegbeboh (Igueben), Lecky Hussein (Etsako West I), Richard Edosa (Oredo West), and Yekini Idiaye (Akoko-Edo I).
Each committee has been given a timeline of one month to submit their reports to the House.
