A 21-year-old man who died in a horror smash with a fire engine has been named in a heartbreaking tribute.

Tragically, the young man could not be saved and passed away on Wednesday May 27 surrounded by loved ones in a London hospital.
In a devastating tribute, a friend said: “Anyone who knew Tommy knows just how special he was.
“He was the biggest smile in every room, the loudest laugh, the friend who could lift your spirits no matter what kind of day you were having. He was kind, caring, loyal, and loved by so many.
“There will never, ever be another Tommy like him.”
A GoFundMe has been set up in Tommy’s name to help cover costs.
Tommy was hit by the emergency vehicle while travelling home from his job at Miller & Carter on an e-scooter.
According to an account from the GoFundMe, Tommy was “waiting at the crossing for the green man signal” moments before he was hit.
After receiving the signal to cross, Tommy “stepped onto the crossing and was tragically struck by an oncoming fire truck”.
Officials says the fire engine was “travelling to a reported emergency”.

Ann Millington, Chief Executive at Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS), said: “At approximately 10.40pm on May 25, a fire engine was involved in a collision with an electric scooter in Princes Road, Dartford.
“The fire engine was travelling to a reported emergency.
“Kent Police has confirmed the rider of the electric scooter has sadly died.
“Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident.
“There is a legal process to follow, and we are fully committed to supporting Kent Police’s , as well as conducting our own internal investigation.”
