DENIS ZAKARIA could end his Chelsea loan stint in January.

That’s as the midfielder reportedly seeks showdown talks with Graham Potter.

Denis Zakaria is seeking talks with Graham Potter as he looks to end his Chelsea loan in January

Zakaria, 25, arrived at Chelsea as a deadline day loan signing from Juventus.

Former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel knew the Swiss midfielder well from his time in Germany.

And the plan was for Zakaria to build up his fitness before competing for a starting spot.

However, Tuchel was sacked after a bad start to the campaign and replaced by Potter.

Zakaria is yet to make one single appearance for Chelsea.

And he appears to be bottom of Potter’s central midfield pecking order.

The Standard now claims Zakaria is ready to hold talks with his boss to discover why he is not featuring.

The powerhouse is concerned by his lack of action at Stamford Bridge.

And Zakaria is even ready to terminate the deal this winter so he can fight for a place back at Juventus.

However, when asked about the ace’s future in London, boss Potter insisted there were no plans to send Zakaria back to Italy.

And the tactician even went on to describe the loanee as an “important” squad player, hinting at an imminent debut.

Potter said: “No decision has been made at all. Denis has been in the group. He’s been training well, he’s ready to help the team.

“Obviously there is competition for places in that area, but there’s no talk of anything.

“He’s an important member of the team. He’s being patient. He’s trying to help the team from the side at the moment, and waiting for his chance.”
