Cristiano Ronaldo splashes out £18m on Portugal’s most expensive house amid rumours of transfer return to Sporting

CRISTIANO RONALDO has reportedly splashed out £18million on Portugal’s most expensive house.

That’s amid rumours of a transfer back to Sporting Lisbon in January.

Man Utd misfit Ronaldo is being linked with a return to Sporting Lisbon

The Manchester United misfit returned to Erik ten Hag’s starting XI in last night’s Europa League win over Sheriff.

Ronaldo scored the final goal in a 3-0 thrashing at Old Trafford.

But he is unlikely to retain his place for this weekend’s Premier League clash with West Ham.

And after his strop against Spurs this month saw him axed from the first team, Ronnie continues to be linked with an exit in January.

One of those destinations could be Sporting Lisbon, with his former club “dreaming” of an exciting reunion.

Ronaldo has now added fuel to the fire by splashing the cash on a new luxury pad – just a 40 minute drive from the Portuguese capital.

The ace already boasts a massive property empire, having previously bought Lisbon’s most expensive flat.

It was reported earlier this year he was also looking to land a massive house back home.

And Marca claims between buying the gorgeous villa and renovating it, Ronnie has spent a whopping £18m in total.

That makes the mansion, located in the Cascais region and due to be ready in early 2023, the most expensive property in the country.

Based along the Portuguese Riviera in Quinta da Marinha, an exclusive residential area, the house is near to towns including Estoril and Sintra.

The specs are highly impressive too, with the mansion measuring 2,720 square metres across three floors.

There is also an outdoor area of 544 square metres, which includes various gardens and a massive swimming pool.

Ronaldo’s decision to buy such a luxurious property in Portugal hints that he is considering a return there shortly.

BE A GOOD SPORT

Sporting boss Ruben Amorim confirmed this week that he would love to have Ronaldo in his side.

But the superstar’s £360,000-a-week wages could prove to be a stumbling block.

Amorim said: “I don’t know. Ronaldo is a top player, a Man United player.

“Everyone in Sporting dreams of the return of Cristiano, so I don’t want to speak about that.

“He’s a Manchester United player, a top player, and he will be for a few months.

“I’m going to respond the same way as a lot of journalists in Portugal ask me that question a lot. He is a Manchester United player.

“Everybody in Sporting dreams of the return for Cristiano but we don’t have the money to pay his wages.

“I think he is happy in Manchester but is not playing so that is the problem.”
