CORONATION Street fans are convinced they’ve “worked out” who Ben Driscoll’s father is after spotting a telltale clue – and they reckon it’s a very familiar face.

Eagle-eyed viewers think they’ve cracked the mystery thanks to one subtle hint, with speculation now rife that a resident could be hiding a huge secret.

Ben arrived on the cobbles alongside his family and Eva Price, instantly raising eyebrows among the residents.

They became the new owners of The Rovers and wasted no time getting to know their neighbours.

While their arrival seemed straightforward at first, fans quickly began picking apart the details – convinced there’s more to his backstory than meets the eye.

Last night’s episode of saw Ben share a moment with Steve McDonald – and viewers are convinced they spotted a spark between the pair as they talk about their similarities and Irish blood.

Fans have since taken to to speculate that the chemistry could hint at something much bigger, with some suggesting the two might actually be related.

On Reddit, one fan wrote: “Did the writer just plant the seed of Ben and Steve being brothers with the mention of Irish blood?”

Another added: “I’m fully convinced now that Jim McDonald will be revealed to be Ben’s real dad, making Ben and Steve brothers.”

Taking to X, one said: “Calling it now – Maggie Driscoll had an affair with Jim McDonald in in the 1980s, and Jim is secretly the father of Ben’s brother, Finlay… Or maybe father of Ben. Steve McDonald has a secret half-brother.”

Another chimed in: “Ben is channelling his inner Jim McDonald, so he is. #corrie.”

Meanwhile, the boss has revealed whether there could be more dramatic crossovers to come after the success of .

The big day took a horrifying turn when multiple cars were involved in a pile-up.

Despite the buzz surrounding the dramatic collision, Iain MacLeod has insisted there are no current plans to repeat the stunt anytime soon – and the reason why.

Talking about another crossover, Iain said a second collaboration “wouldn’t make sense”.

He told This Is Media City : “The two shows do have a very different editorial voice and different sensibilities and the type of stories they tell are different.

“We had to tiptoe quite carefully through the minefield of blending it together and making sure it didn’t feel like some horrible Frankenstein’s monster of two desperate halves.

“It just wouldn’t work to do it long-term.”
