The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has assured residents of Kebbi State of the Nigerian Air Force’s readiness to protect lives and property.
Abubakar gave the assurance during an operational assessment visit to the state, where he held meetings with senior military commanders, heads of security agencies, and Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Nigerian Air Force spokesperson, the visit included inspections of key military infrastructure and discussions on strengthening security operations in the North-West.
The Air Chief noted Kebbi’s strategic location, sharing borders with the Republics of Benin and Niger, and its vast rural terrain, which he said demands heightened vigilance.
“What affects Kebbi affects the entire North-West, and by extension, the peace and stability of our nation. Our commitment is clear: we will locate and root out all criminal elements threatening the peace and safety of law-abiding citizens. Nigeria must be secure for development to thrive,” he said.
Governor Idris commended the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies for their efforts in keeping the state largely peaceful despite emerging threats in the region, and pledged continued government support for security operations.
