Benn is coming off two 160lb – but has vowed to make a 147lb return.

And he plans to do so in his very next fight as he eyes the WBC title that – live on DAZN PPV.
But faces a fight to first strip off his middleweight muscle before even stepping into the ring.
Froch said on SunSport’s No Glove Lost episode: “It is dangerous, especially that weight at that size from 160 down to 147.
“If you’re a light-heavyweight, maybe coming back down to super-middle, someone like Andre Ward who stepped up to light heavyweight and then he probably could have come back down to super middle or Callum Smith who’s a big super-middle and then he can do light-heavyweight.
“But to come down from 160 and expect to be able to perform, it’s dangerous.”
Benn twice boxed at a 150lb catchweight – while he was in the midst of his doping scandal after failing a drug test in 2022 for testosterone booster clomiphene.
And former 140lb undisputed world champ Taylor, 35, said: “I think 154 would be a little bit more comfortable for him.
“I mean, obviously again we’re not in the camp, we don’t know how Conor’s body is.

“But going from 147 up to 160, and then getting back down to 147 again, that’s gonna be a tough, tough ask, to put on that muscle and to take it back off again.
“That’s gonna be quite tough.”
After his failed test, Benn protested his innocence but was provisionally banned by UK Anti-Doping and the British Boxing Board of Control.
He took his career to America for two wins before being cleared to fight Eubank in Britain when UKAD dropped the case against him.
Benn, 29, lost to Eubank, 36, in their April thriller before dominating the November rematch in a breakout performance.
He has every top name from 147lb-154lb calling him out – from across the pond and closer to home.
And Froch added: “Josh Kelly’s just become IBF champ, he’s in and around that weight and there’s talk of that.
“That’s an interesting fight but even then, you’ve still gotta say, ‘Do you put Conor Benn in with Kelly?’
“Because, dangerous fight, is it a massive fight yet? Probably not. Josh Kelly’s gotta do something, but Conor Benn’s putting himself in and around that mix.
“He’s making all the noise. He’s a big name after the two Eubank fights. So he’s got to be careful what he wishes for.
“But he’s a big name, big fights. But if you’re managing him, who do you put him in with to keep him safe? That’s the big question. I honestly don’t know.”
Despite not fighting at welterweight in over THREE YEARS, Benn is the WBC’s No1 ranked contender.
It puts him in line to face the winner of this weekend’s title bout between champion Barrios, 30, and Stateside star Garcia, 27.
Benn is also in talks to , 30, instead.
And former super-featherweight world champ Barry Jones backs Benn’s decision to target the top dogs at 147lb as opposed to 154lb.
He said: “There’s no massive commercial names there, but they’re all really, really hard fights.
“There’s not an easy night in that, in that top six or seven weight division. So I understand why you’d skip that because at welterweight.
“There’s a lot of financially good viable options there which are still good hard fights, but you’re gonna get the financial rewards as well.”
