Rivers United thrashed Liberia’s Watanga FC 3-0 in the first leg of their CAF Champions League clash in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The Nigeria Professional Football League champions dominated the game and scored all three goals in the first half.
Kenechukwu Agu gave the hosts the lead in eight minutes.
Stanley Eguma’s side doubled their lead 10 minutes later.
Ghana defender Paul Acquah added the third goal in the first half added time.
The second leg will take place in Monrovia next week Sunday.
