BROOKLYN BECKHAM and Catherine Zeta-Jones were hilariously heckled by rowdy US fans during the Ryder Cup celebrity event.

The pair were among the big names representing Europe in the All-Star match at Bethpage ahead of the main event.

Harry Potter actors Tom Felton and Oliver Phelps also teed it up for the away side.

But they were all given a witty, hostile reception and mocked on the first tee.

, 26, was in the first European pairing alongside Croatian basketball star Toni Kukoc against Eli Manning and Colin Jost.

The son of ex-England captain David walked out just before his 7.45am tee time to a sparsely-populated grandstand, which will be packed to the rafters on Friday.

Introduced as a model, internet personality and photographer – to which he shook his head in embarrassment – Beckham stepped up to hit first… but his shot went high, right and not very far.

Then in the second group, Zeta-Jones and NBA hero Pau Gasol faced .

And as she took a practice swing, some jokers in the audience brilliantly jeered.

And then Harry Potter duo Felton, 38, and Phelps, 39, came in for stick.

They walked out to the films’ iconic theme tune to largely polite applause – before waving to some of the European supporters.

But as they waited to get underway against musicians Kane Brown and Noah Kahan, one punter heckled: “Nothing good came out of Slytherin,” in reference to Felton’s character Draco Malfoy.

And it turned out nothing good came out of Gryffindor, either, as both men hooked their drives way out to the left – with Phelps’ almost ending up on the 18th hole fairway.

The Europeans were not the only ones subject to quips from the crowd, though, as bolshy tennis legend John McEnroe’s sliced tee shot was somewhat expectedly met with cries of “you cannot be serious”.

The two teams of eight celebrities faced off in four scramble matches, playing 11 holes and a point up for grabs on each one.

chiefs would have been hoping for similar light-hearted fun between the players and fans when the main event starts.

However, there are serious concerns over the New York supporters’ behaviour this week and fears things could spill over.

Former Ryder Cup hero Andrew Coltart even told SunSport he warned the .
