A 24-YEAR-OLD Brit man has been charged with assault after allegedly forcing a screw into a baby’s leg to try and swindle a free £50 meal.

The man falsely claimed that a faulty high chair had injured his one-year-old child, when he had made her cry himself, said.

Staff at ’s famed Mr Wong restaurant said he then complained and demanded his back, the Daily Telegraph reported .

Workers wiped the Brit’s £50 bill and he left with his infant.

But the restaurant staff later checked the CCTV.

Horrified by what they saw, staff called the police, who reviewed the footage.

Police visited the restaurant and interviewed staff after the incident on June 21.

Cops allege the man took a screw from the highchair and pushed it into his daughter’s leg, which made her cry.

The Brit man has been charged with domestic violence-related assault as well as dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.

He was arrested at a caravan park in Narrabeen, north of Sydney, on Monday.

A spokesperson said: “Police will allege in court the man removed a screw from the chair and pressed it into the child’s leg, causing her to cry.”

The man, who cannot be named to protect his child’s identity, was released on bail.

He is set to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on July 15.

A Mr Wong spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph that they could not comment.
