Sana Aslim, 38, was around the M56 during rush hour and narrowly avoiding other cars after leaving a friend’s house following an argument.

Sana was ”laughing and waving” at traffic officers who ordered her to pull over, but she refused to while travelling at 20mph on the carriageway.

“Several” containers of were discovered inside her black 6-speed X1 SUV when she was eventually pulled over.

Sana failed a roadside FIT test and refused to give a sample for breath analysis in the station.

The mum, who lives with her businessman husband and children at a £725,000 townhouse in Hale Barns near Altrincham, , insisted she had taken the hippy crack from a friend for ”safekeeping.”

She claims to have sustained a burst tyre while driving along the carriageway and only ”momentarily” failed to stop for .

Sana explained her ”waving” from the wheel was her indicating to police that she would stop her BMW once she felt it was safe to do so.

At Warrington magistrates court, Sana faced up to 18 months in jail after admitting dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, failing to provide a sample for analysis, driving a vehicle in a condition likely to cause danger of injury and possession of class C drug nitrous oxide.

With no previous convictions, she was given 20 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months after her explanation was accepted by prosecutors in a formal ”basis of plea” document.

Sana was ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity and was banned from driving for 18 months.

She must also take an extended driving test before getting her license back, and was made to pay £354 in costs and a surcharge.

The incident occurred at 7.15pm on June 25 last year when Sana, who ran a hairdressing and beauty business in Liverpool, was travelling on the Westbound carriageway near Warrington.

Miss Diana Przemecka, prosecuting, told an earlier hearing that when police officers used their emergency lights and sirens behind Sana’s BMW “the defendant failed to pull over”.

She added: “The front tyre was completely off the wheel and driving on the wheel rim.

“Another officer attended and got alongside the defendant who was traveling in lane one at 20mph.

“The defendant started to wave at the officer and at no time she made any attempt to pull over.

“The officer could see that the defendant was smoking and she kept laughing.”

Her defence solicitor Mr Adil Khan said Sana had been diagnosed with anxiety and panic attacks, which she experiences when under stress.

He told the court: ”She was driving her vehicle when the tyre burst. At the time she was approximately 10 minutes away from her own address and accepts failing to stop for the police, momentarily.

”She accepts being in possession of the nitrous oxide in the vehicle but had no intention of inhaling it. It did not belong to her. It was left in the vehicle by another.”

Mr Khan explained that while attending her friend’s party, Sana had “effectively taken” the nitrous oxide, but did not take it while driving.

He added: “She has written a letter to the court in which she expresses a great deal of remorse.

“She is a low risk of re-offending and never wants to be in this position again. She wants to put her children and family first.

“She has a husband who is in the hospital having had two strokes. She is in a really dark place at present. ”

JP Katherine Whitaker told the court: “From reading all the information we have been given, we believe it was a deliberate decision to ignore the rules of the road and you did drive for a prolonged period of time.

“However, you won’t be going to prison today. We feel there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation and there are dependents who rely on you.”
