THE BBC’s Winter Olympics figures shattered TV figures after recording a total of 83million streams throughout the tournament.
The Games have enjoyed a popularity surge this year in after a series of dramatic events and moments.

There have been some memorable moments after in the men’s curling final.
That event brought in 5.5m viewers, while 8.3m tuned in to watch .
The coverage also saw 44m hours streamed on BBC iPlayer, the BBC website and app and 23m on TV.
And the 83m streams are a massive increase on the 31.4m total viewers from the last Winter Olympics in in 2022. That included a TV audience of 26m.
The Games were also a hit on the BBC’s social media channels too.
There 235m views overall, with the most popular clip having 6m views on TikTok.
BBC director of sport Alex Kay-Jelski said the corporation had “delivered an outstanding Games” and “engaged audiences more than ever”.
He said: “From unforgettable human moments to technical sporting insight, BBC Sport didn’t just cover this year’s Winter Olympic Games, it delivered conversation and insight around them that got audiences talking and engaging more than ever.

“Record audiences came to the BBC to experience our multi-platform coverage – whether that was a viral social media clip, an in-depth explainer on the website, a bespoke digital film for iPlayer, or watching the drama unfold live on TV.
“I’m hugely proud of the teams who worked tirelessly to deliver such an outstanding Games for existing and new audiences.”
While the Games were a success in viewing terms, finished 15th in the medals table after three golds, one silver and one bronze.
Norway dominated the games with 18 gold medals to help them top the leaderboard, beating , who finished second.
