A BAR owner has revealed the shocking reason a man was kicked out of a bar and later struck over the head with a chair in a viral video that has stunned millions.

CCTV captured the moment when on Friday night, before one of them was left sprawling on the pavement after being hit by flying furniture.

In the crazy footage, the first man is hurled through the doorway by a security guard, crashing onto his back outside Bar 20 – a strip club on King Street.

Moments later, his companion can be seen stealing a chair from a neighbouring restaurant and hurling it towards the club’s entrance.

Believed to be aiming at the security guards, the chair instead slams into the back of his friend’s head, sending him face-first onto the pavement.

The security guards are then seen laughing and giving the chair-thrower a sarcastic round of applause.

According to Seven News , the victim walked away without serious injury.

Now, the astonishing reason behind the calamitous ordeal has been revealed.

News.com.au revealed the man who accidentally knocked out his friend had earlier been kicked out after telling a barmaid to “open the f***ing beer”.

According to the club’s co-owner, Michael Trimble, trouble began as soon as the pair entered the venue at 9.20pm.

He said the men were immediately aggressive towards staff, with the outburst over the unopened beer proving to be the final straw.

Security were called in straight away, but the men refused to go quietly.

What Trimble described should have been a standard 30-second ejection quickly spiralled out of control.

“The whole incident went for about eight minutes,” Trimble said.

“It was a crazy long time for an ejection. Most people are out the door in 30 seconds after being asked to leave. But the whole thing just went on for ages.

“They just refused to leave.”

When security finally forced the men onto the street, tensions appeared to subside – albeit briefly.

In a surprising twist, one of the men even began apologising for their behaviour.

“He had actually changed his tune and was apologetic,” Trimble said.

“He was standing there apologising for his mate’s behaviour.”

While one man attempted to smooth things over, his friend was already plotting his next move.

Footage shows the assailant reaching into a neighbouring Korean restaurant and grabbing a wooden chair.

One of the members of staff said the men had “suddenly asked if he could borrow a chair”.

“I tried to stop him,” she told Seven News.

“It’s our shop chair, you cannot take it.”

Despite her refusal, the man took it anyway to carry out his attack.

Within seconds, the chair is thrown through the air, narrowly missing the bouncers and instead knocking his mate out cold.

The extraordinary sequence of events has since gone viral, racking up an astonishing 27 million views in just 24 hours.

“I’ve seen plenty of instances of people making clowns of themselves in my 12 years in this industry,” Trimble said.

“But nothing with the potential to go viral like that.”

In the aftermath, the Korean restaurant gifted the chair to Bar 20, where it has since become an unlikely attraction.

“It’s a piece of memorabilia now,” Trimble said.

“We have dressed it up in a Bar 20 shirt and put in on display.”

The identity of the troublesome twosome remains unknown but their ill-fated night out has already earned a permanent place in Melbourne folklore.
