ARSENAL’S title charge faces a terrifying history lesson tonight — with Wolves holding the secret to stunning league leaders.

After booking their place in the fifth round of the for the first time since 2020, Mikel Arteta’s men travel to Molineux to face the Prem’s bottom club.

With over 13,000 matches played in the history of the Premier League, only 42 have been between teams who started the day in first and last place.

The underdog has only won on FOUR occasions.

But, incredibly, Wolves have been the giant-killers TWICE. Both times at home.

The basement boys stunned Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United 1-0 in January 2004.

They then repeated the trick against the same opponents in February 2011.

Since that evening 15 years ago, 17 Prem leaders have escaped from similar clashes unscathed.

And, as Arsenal board the bus to Wolves, they do so a massive 48 POINTS ahead of their rivals.

But they know they survived a massive scare in the reverse fixture in December.

That evening, they needed a fortunate stoppage-time own goal from Yerson Mosquera to snatch the win.

And the Gunners enter the clash having seen their dominant form slip in recent weeks.

Arsenal have seen their lead diminish after failing to win three of their last five league games.

They sit four points above ., and can extend that gap to seven tonight, albeit having played a game more.

With twelve games left of the season, it’s never been more important for Arteta’s men to take home the win.
